Description
Bay leaf clove cinnamon tea made in 10 minutes with 3 spices. Anti-inflammatory, blood sugar support, and digestion benefits in one daily cup.
Ingredients
2 cups filtered water
2 dried bay leaves, whole
3 whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick (about 3 inches) or 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon honey, optional
1/4 lemon, juiced, optional
1/4 inch fresh ginger, sliced, optional
Instructions
1. Measure out bay leaves, cloves, and cinnamon stick and set aside.
2. Bring 2 cups of filtered water to a full boil in a small saucepan over medium-high heat.
3. Add bay leaves, cloves, and cinnamon to boiling water. Reduce heat to low and simmer gently for 10 minutes.
4. Strain tea through a fine mesh strainer into your mug. Press bay leaves gently to extract all liquid.
5. Stir in honey and lemon if using. Serve immediately while hot or cool to room temperature.
Notes
Storage: Drink fresh. Leftovers keep in the fridge up to 24 hours in a sealed jar.
Use only 3 cloves maximum per 2 cups of water. More than 3 makes the tea bitter.
Simmer at low heat, not a rolling boil. High heat destroys the delicate bay leaf oils.
Pair with the turmeric with piperine recipe for a full anti-inflammatory morning routine.
